She sat staring at the blinking cursor.
It meant so much to her. So much.

She'd struggled with feeling empty, feeling like nothing. But she'd been told she was something. That she was someone.
God created her. The Almighty power had formed her, made her, claimed her. She was His. A child of the King of kings. She was His daughter and He'd called her beautiful. His princess.
But voices crowded her mind: she was so flawed. Weak, useless, powerless, failing, falling.
She felt it was because of her faults she'd be hurt, attacked, used, left abandoned... all of it scarring her with more abuse. More marks. More dents. More reason for more pain.
Would it ever end? She felt it would never end.
But to her- LOVE, He did send.
He was what healed her, shielded her. He was her protection that never left! He was always there... always there.
Jesus, He took her marks. He took her dents. He took her pain.
Oh, what an awesome Father- exalt His Name! To Hime be glory! To Him be all fame...
She- WE- so undeserving... still given a gift. He offers the gift.
Peace, joy, grace, mercy, love-
LIFE. Eternity. EVERYTHING.
He gives it. Our loving Father gives it ALL.
He is ALL.

She sat staring at the blinking cursor.
It meant so much to her. So much.
He'd given her EVERYTHING. He'd given her it ALL.
And she'd received from Him instruction: to go forth and share His life-giving power. Bring all the FAME TO HIS NAME.
Let EVERY ear hear.
She- we- must speak it.
Let EVERY eye see.
She- we- must shine His light so brightly that it can't be missed.

She knew her instruction.
And she knew the passion He'd placed in her heart: writing.

So, she sat staring at the blinking cursor.
It meant so much to her. So much.

So much did she want to bring her Father glory.
So much did she want to liver her days giving Him praise.
So much did she want to join Him, past the pearly gates... to hear the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
So much.

So she began to write.

For Jesus, the Christ, the Savior!
For the Teacher, Leader, Shepherd!
For the Amazing Grace!
For the Prince of peace!
For the Lord of all lords!
For the Maker, the Creator!
For the Father.
For our Father.
For our KING.
For Him, she wrote.

Do it for Him.

2 + 2 = 5

Some people are afraid to help; afraid to give, and volunteer. They are afraid for one simple reason: They think that they will get nothing in return for their hard work. They theorize that their hard work would go without reward, but the blemish in their theory is that they are incorrect. Applying selflessness in your life sets the bar high for your friends, peers, and observers for them to strive to attain. This will turn you into a person that people will admire and respect for generations.

Born in 1839, and chairman of Standard Oil Company, John D. Rockefeller, gave a large amount of his money to charity. Since his first paycheck, he tithed to his church, and with his approx. net worth being $318.3 billion he demonstrated his great heart for giving. After 1911, Standard Oil Company was no more. Instead of running his monopoly, he retired and devoted to his life earnings to philanthropy. His contributions impacted the medicinal, educational, and scientific worlds.

Rockefeller is not the only person who can fit into this category. Others gave more than just their money. Martin Luther King, Jr. will not only get respect from the people of his color, but also from those who wish that they had the courage and the selflessness to do what he achieved. He is most know for fighting for Civil Rights. He, in the end, gave his life for the cause when he was assassinated by James Earl Ray in April, 1968, while King was staying at his favorite hotel. Ray confessed in March of 1969, and was convicted to 99 years in prison for the assassination of a public figure especially one so very close to American hearts. King gave his life to preserve equal rights for all men. He gave his all for the better of all Americans.

I try to show selflessness in my own life. I spend a lot of weekends at the church. I volunteer in the nursery at the church, and teach children’s church as well. I play in the worship band for the youth group. I travel around with my friends from church and minister to other churches. I enjoy spending my time helping others.

As I said earlier, practicing selflessness in your life doesn’t go without reward. The bible says in Luke 6:38, “If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving – large or small – it will be used to measure what is given back to you.” When some people think of volunteering, they think, “A lot of work and no pay,” but they are wrong. When you give anything, large or small, it will be given back to you, but even more. That’s just how it works. The reward for selflessness will be greater than the amount put into it. Let’ s make the world a better place by setting the precedent of good character.

A little tidbit

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 31:4
I don't think there's much to say after that. Delight yourself in the Lord. If you try to make yourself happy with anything else, I'll just tell you right now that it won't work. Focus on God. It's way easier than focusing on anything else. And it's WAY more rewarding.

Alone?

she's lying there cold and wet, delirious with longing. she's needing him, waiting for the return that will never come. crying out in the black night, screaming his name repeatedly, knowing he can't, wont, be listening. to far gone, to far away in the heaven he's found in HER. will she ever mean anything to anyone? so happy with him, sharing, she thought, in boundless happiness. "he doesn't want me? he doesn't need me?" her whole world gone in an instant. why did he leave her? what did she do wrong? moving on, getting up? it's impossible. weighted down with questions, needing answers from the voice she can't here ever again. the voice that said the hurting words, the voice that left her for the only friend she had. the friend who was once so close, the friend with whom she shared her deepest secrets. never can she see HIM. never can she see HER. never will she feel alive again. to live again? an impossible feat, unimaginable. yet there is another, one to dry the tears, one to lift her head. HE understands, HE waits out the mood swings. first HATE for all, then tears and HOPELESSNESS, nothing can hurt as much. DEPRESSION, ending it would be better than living through one more day in this HELL. he'll wait for her. HE truly loves her, enough to save her from the grief of losing the others. enough to save her from the pain of loneliness. HE'LL be with her, waiting, hoping, that she'll wake up to see herself as he sees her. to love him as he loves her. to wake up and LIVE AGAIN.

(remember GOD will LOVE YOU no matter what)

Campus Missionary Conference 1

So we went to a Campus Missionary conference and the speakers had so much stuff to say! It was amazing! I'm sol glad I went! One of them talked about what people outside the church think about Christians. Hypocritical, judgemental, sheltered, and anti homosexual are a few of the top things that those people think about us! I understand that there are some people that are like that. And I understand that those people are annoying. Because they annoy me too! These people, in my point of view, are not true Christians. They do NOT have much of a relationship with God.

True Christians... Are people that reject religion. Yes I just said REJECT religion! BUT! They love Jesus. They love him and have a RELATIONSHIP and FRIENDSHIP with him, other than a religion about him. These are the Christians that go places. These are the Christians that save people for God.

Anyway... That was a fun experience... I can't wait till later today! I guess we're going to use our facebooks to reach people... Ok... Well I guess we'll see what that entails.

Just keep going! :)

When Times are hard

Keep pushing through

Keep holding on

When you feel down

Stand still and think about it

Rest and pray

Sleep with your thoughts

Ignore your troubles

Keep in control...

On the brightest sunny day

You can feel so out of touch

Just keep going...

You'll be fine...

Sad, out of touch

Lonely, can't see straight

In a haze, I want to fall

Just keep going...

You'll be fine...

Quotable Dead Guy!

Some of you are aware of my fondness for the writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon; below is a today's installment from his devotional work, "Faith's Checkbook."

He Never Fails
I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Joshua 1:5)

This word to Joshua is often quoted; it is the basis of that New Testament word "He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Beloved, a life of warfare is before us, but the Lord of Hosts is with us. Are we called to lead a great but fickle people? This promise guarantees us all the wisdom and prudence that we shall need. Have we to contend with cunning and powerful enemies? Here is strength and valor, prowess and victory. Have we a vast heritage to win? By this sign we shall achieve our purpose; the Lord Himself is with us.

It would be woe to us indeed if Jehovah could fail us; but, as this can never be, the winds of disquietude are laid to sleep in the caverns of divine faithfulness. On no one occasion will the Lord desert us. Happen what may, He will be at our side. Friends drop from us, their help is but an April shower; but God is faithful, Jesus is the same forever, and the Holy Spirit abideth in us.

Come, my heart, be calm and hopeful today. Clouds may gather, but the Lord can blow them away. Since God will not fail me, my faith shall not fail; and as He will not forsake me, neither will I forsake Him. Oh, for a restful faith!
